Clean and DJ Zegon are close to releasing an LP from their N.A.S.A. (North America/South America) project. The duo cook the beats, and turned to their enviable contact list to collect a headspinning list of contributors, including Tom Waits, Karen O, Nick Zinner, Spank Rock, David Byrne, M.I.A., RZA, Method Man, George Clinton, Chuck D, John Frusciante, and Ol' Dirty Bastard. Yes, ODB, which should give you an idea of how long this thing's been in gestation. The caught Kanye for this track, "Gifted," before he discovered his 808 or his heartbreak, so for those who like their Ye served sans autotune, get ready to enjoy lots of lyrics about being under-appreciated (right), linked to Santi defiantly singing about knowing what she's fighting for (but never telling) by a little bit of Lykke doing studio-snipped syllabic scatting and helping on the hook. It's mostly a vent session for a trio of ascendant artists to bitch about how it ain't easy being gifted, y'all, but it's got those ruptured-tweeter/club-cut synths that the Justice fans take their drugs to and the N.A.S.A. dudes bring an authentic feel so certainly you can dance to it.
- From <a href="http://stereogum.com/archives/video/new-nasa-feat-kanye-west-santogold-lykke-li-gifted_040862.html"target="_blank">Stereogum

DeVotchKa @ Webster Hall

DeVotchKa came to New York and I wrote about it. I've been working at PC Magazine as an intern, although I like to think of myself as Intern Extraordinaire. It's been awesome. I've been there for about a month and a half. And (cue fanfare) today will mark the 2-month anniversary of my living in New York!

Can you believe it? I sure can't. And I would have had no clue today was my anniversary except that when I went to get on the subway today it said "insufficient fair," and I got pissed off and had to wait in line to buy a new Metro Card. Boooo. I was a few minutes late to work because of it. Also, just so you all know, an unlimited Metro Card costs $81. So that's $81 a month I have to spend. BUT, it would cost a lot more if I paid for each ride, which is $2 a ride. Also, I figure that if I lived in Colorado and had a car, with the cost of insurance and gas, I would probably be paying around that or more...so that's how I validate that every time.

Well, as you all know, the holidays are coming up. There are signs of it EVERYWHERE! I'm in no rush for the holidays to be here, and I have to say the only thing holiday-related that I'm happy about right now is that Starbucks has a new latte. It's called a gingersnap latte, and there are real bits of ginger in the bottom. I think it's the most genius idea. What better way to freshen your stale coffee breath than by chewing on some fresh ginger?! AH! I love it. Other than that, not happy about the holidays coming.

There is one more thing I'm looking forward to about the holidays, and that's that I'm coming home! Whoa! I swung a fairly cheap ticket, although that means I will have no money when I'm in Colorado...so please ask your families to feed me, and please let me stay in your home (yes, Mom, I'll be with you most of the time). I'll be home from December 24 to January 5. So, if anyone wants to make a Christmas miracle happen and pick me up from the airport on Christmas eve, I will shove gingerbread cookies into your coat pockets for you to eat at a later date. Just imagine, a few days after I'm gone and you put your hand in your pocket and pull out your crumb-filled hand in disgust, you'll think of me, AND it will smell like gingerbread.

The holidays mean a busy time at work, and I've already started reviewing toys for the Web site! (Best job ever!) The first toy I reviewed is the VTech Create-A-Story. I got to make a story with Pooh (yes, I know how that sounds). It was OK, but kind of boring. Maybe that's because I wasn't three years old. Here's a link to the post. The next toy I reviewed was so freakin' awesome. It's called the Mattel Girl Tech Stylin' Studio. You get to give yourself a makeover. Definietly a fun way to spend a Friday at work. I think it's fun for girls of any age (even 22). Check out my review and scroll down to the bottom...I gave two of the guys at work makeovers. FUN!

So, I know I was doing such a good job at keeping track of things chronologically, but that's just not going to work anymore, so...I'm just going to write about things when they pop into my mind. For instance, hey, remember that night about a week ago when BARACK OBAMA WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION!?!?!!!?!?! Oh yeah...I remember that. So, wow. We can all breathe again and sleep at night. I know I lost some sleep close to the end there. What a monumental experience. I spent the night in Harlem at a giant Obama rally. Well, that's where I spent the last part of the night...

I started out a this bar near Union Square (creatively called "The Union") with Sierra. There was a big CouchSurfing party there, but it was majorly crowded. Ballard told us about this little pub, and Sierra and I raced over to it to see Colorado's results. We got there, and the results still hadn't been called. Booo. It was a great place to watch it. Lots of TVs, great sound, and not packed at all. The place was called McGerry's. BUT...then, Ballard's friend found about about this rally in Harlem, and we hopped on a train and found ourself at Adam Clayton Powell Plaza on W. 125th between Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and Malcom X Blvd (how awesome is that?!).

The place was packed, but once Obama was announced as President-elect, the crowd's energy was amazing. Everyone was cheering and laughing and smiling and crying, and it was so great. It was such a different experience to celebrate America's black president and not be surrounded by white people. Oh Boulder, I love you, but you're really not diverse. We danced and sang to Stevie Wonder and also, this song:

I still get giddy when I hear the song, and also...I love, love, LOVE that we have a president who can dance like this:

I mean REALLY!!! When have we had a president who could get down like that!? Wow. I wanna party with Barack, but I also want him to fix all our problems (both of which I know won't happen, but it's a dream). Anyways, below is a slideshow of my Election Day/Night. So, this is the last time I'll say, "Wow, it's really been a long time since I last wrote on here..."

So, let me catch you up on where we left off...(and just so you know, so that the blog goes in Blogosphere Order...the last post at the top of the page is my most recent post, and the ones at the bottom are less recent, BUT, since I left off in the middle of everything, you'll have to scroll down to the bottom and read from bottom to top (Sept. 26, will be at the bottom of this post). It's almost like reading in Hebrew, but not quite.
Saturday, Oct. 11:
Went to the Magnet Theatre to see improv with Mikelle, Sierra and Inbar. Sierra thinks comedy shows are awkward, so she resisted for a while, but then she gave in. Mikelle had never been to one before, so it was her first time! It was pretty funny...but I've seen better. Then, we went to meet Dave and ended up at this bar called Revival where I had gone with the Couch Surfers the last time I was in NY. Fun night!

Nothing really exciting until...Friday, Oct. 10:
Went to a "double feature" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more, say no more) with Ballard and two of his friends. We saw Rachel Getting Married and Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist.
They were both pretty good. One had substance and meaning, and the other was just fun. It was so weird to see Nick and Nora b/c it was all filmed and took place in NY. It was the first time I've been in NY and watched a movie that took place in NY. Right when we left the theater we saw places that were in the movie! Weird.

Then, we went to get milkshakes, but a magical truck came in our way. It was a dessert truck!
The Dessert Truck is about a year old and came about when a couple of guys who had worked in restaurants as pastry chefs decided they didn't want to work in fancy-pants restaurants anymore. They opened this truck that sells wonderful $5 desserts...they have molten chocolate cake, creme brulee and lots of other delicious things! Needless to say, I did not make it to the milkshake place.

We then went and walked around the Village. We sat in a park and rats ran around there like racoons run around at night in Colorado. So gross. Rats everywhere, just gallivanting around.

Monday, Oct. 6:
Nothing too exciting...Had pumpkin spice custard from the Shake Shack. It was literally the best frozen treat I've ever had. The Shake Shack is a famous NY institution and people wait in this massive line to eat food from there. Fortunately, there's an express line JUST for custard. Nothing else...not shakes, not malts, just custard. The flavors for October are German Chocolate, Apple Rosemary, Pancake, Chocolate Candied Corn, Cinamon Roasted Fig, and Shack Shiraz Poached Pear. Those are the different flavors for each day of the week (Monday=pumpkin day, Tuesday=german choc day, and so on). Soooooo good!

Sunday, Oct. 5:
Danielle and I decided to go to brunch at this cute place called Busboys and Poets. It was delicious, but on our way there, something horrible happened. We had to walk down this huge hill on the street, and out of nowhere, I just fell. It was the weirdest thing. I fell face first, and since we were on such a steep hill and I was carrying a big backpack full of all my clothes for the weekend, my backpack then went over my head and caused me to fall further down the hill. It was ridiculous. I got up and both Danielle and I were confused how it happened. Anyways, I almost ripped a hole in my brand new jeans, but now they just have this stupid white mark on the knee, and every time I wear the jeans, I think about how I fell down a hill.

So, after brunch we went to the Smithsonian Museum to see the last day of the Jim Hensen exhibit. It was awesome, and especially because we got to relive the days of the Muppet Babies, the Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock during the drinking game the night before. They were crazy about people not taking photos in the exhibit, but I snuck one in!
Then, Danielle sent me off on the Bolt Bus, but not before we had one last milkshake!

Oh! And Suede from Project Runway was on my bus from DC to NY! OMG! I was starstruck. I didn't say anything to him because I figured if I was a suedo-celebrity and was taking a five-hour-long busride, I wouldn't want anyone bugging me for a picture...but maybe I should have...oh well!

Saturday, Oct. 4:
Went to the 2nd Annual Columbia Heights Day. Columbia Heights is the neighborhood that Danielle lives in, and it's very cute! There was a petting zoo, and Danielle told me there would be a zebra. I think she just said that to get me to go, but there was no zebra at the petting zoo. There was a donkey of sorts, and I explained to Danielle that zebras had these things called stripes and are usually a little bigger than donkeys. Anyhow, there was a camel. And camels are pretty freakin' cool. I got to feed it a few times and camel lips are very strange things. If you ever get a chance to feed a camel, I suggest you take advantage of it. Their lips move up and down (like ours) but also side to side. Crazy! Besides the camel (and less exciting to me, but more exciting to Danielle) was the mayor of DC. He seemed pretty cool. He was just eating a bag of popcorn on stage as they introduced him. Nice.

Later, we watch the Ohio State game, because Jill is a huge Ohio fan (since she went there). We also played this awesome game. And for those of you on the other end of the age spectrum, please don't worry about us, we're fine and can take care of ourselves. I know this may shock and apall you, but it's not as bad as it sounds. For those of you who are near my age and know of the term "power hour" then you'll know how awesome this is. Anyways, you do power hour (which is when you take one shot of beer every minute for an hour), to this awesome video of old TV shows from our childhood! Warning: don't watch the video before you play! It's fun to be surprised and guess what show it's from just by listening to it.

Friday, Oct. 3:
Woke up at 6 a.m. Got about 3 hours of sleep. The air conditioner repairman came at 6:15. And whoa...he was the stereotypical New York repairman...ha! I could try to describe it, but I don't think I have to...I think you all know. I took the Bolt Bus to see Danielle in DC. The bus was very nice. I had two seats to myself...very roomy. I pretty much slept the whole way, but when I was awake, I got to see some of the leaves starting to change. They have a lot of red out here!

When I got to DC, Danielle and I went to a bar to meet a bunch of her work friends. As we were walking across the street, I noticed a suitcase just sitting outside by a trashcan. I pointed it out to Danielle and she said it probably had something bad in it. I said "maybe it's a bomb," and she said, "Don't say that. The Secret Service will be here in a second." Well, we were at the bar for a while, but then we found out we couldn't leave because the street was blocked off by policemen BECAUSE OF THE SUITCASE! HA! Can you believe that? We were right?! I don't think it was a bomb...but we got the bar to extend happy hour for us since we were stuck there.

The cops outside the bar

Anyways, we went to a few more bars (one of which had skee ball...yes!) I also realized I am no longer skilled in the art of skee ball. :( Oh well.
Her friends bought us a lot of drinks, which is pretty awesome. And it was Jill's bday (she is Danielle's bf in DC). Also, Danielle's friend Mark got in a bro-face-off with this other dude at one of the bars. There was this punching bag game that told you how hard you hit the punching bag, and they competed for a good 30-40 minutes. Mark is a normal-sized guy, but this other guy looked like Vin Diesel. It was pretty funny...

Danielle and I ate MASSIVE pieces of pizza (bigger than any in NY I think!) We got home prettttttttty late, which resulted in me sleeping in the next day...oops!

Thursday, Oct. 2:
Watched the VP debate and ate Chinese food with Robin. Bidon totally dominated over stupid Sarah Palin. Man, that SNL skit is so funny. Especially the last part...

Wednesday, Oct. 1:
Nothing exciting today. Had eggplant pizza again. Still good.

Tuesday, Sept 30:
Had 1st day at PC Mag. Everyone is RELLY nice. A couple of cute guys. I love my boss, she's awesome. Went shopping after work...bad idea. I justified it becuase I needed a slip (is that too old-lady-like? Shayna would say so...I don't care...I needed one!). I went to Macy's for the first time. It was insane. The store is HUGE. I was shocked. I also needed nylons, and I spent probably 45 minutes looking through all of them. I finally asked a sales person to help me, and when I tried them on the next day, they weren't even what I wanted. Damn you Macy's!

Monday, Sept. 29:
My last day to sleep in before I start working at PC Magazine. I will miss sleeping in...a lot.

Sunday, Sept. 28:
I went to bed at 5 a.m. yesterday and woke up at 10 to go to Lincoln Center to help Lalita volunteer at the Sierra Club table for a big environment festival...the only thing was it was pouring rain, and I was not prepared for it. I had an umbrella, but I was wearing tights and flats, and my poor feet were SOAKING wet the whole day. Water was foaming out of my shoes, and now my shoes are a different color (I don't even want to think about how disgusting the dirty rain/street water is). I took my shoes and tights off later that night and thought "Huh, is that a foot tan?" But then I realized it was just a dirt tan...gross.

So, after I left Licoln Center, I was so upset about my wet feet that I went to this horrible place called Shoe Mania. Well, it's not actually horrible if you have a lot of money to spend, but I don't, and I still ended up spending money on boots. My sales person asked me for my number as I was walking out the door. He said he was from somewhere in South Africa, but I couldn't really understand what he was saying through his accent. I was so caught off guard, that I gave him my real number when I really meant to give him a fake number. Damn. I figured he wouldn't call, but a few hours later, he did! Awk-ward. I still couldn't understand what he was saying...and needless to say, the conversation was awkward.

Saturday, Sep. 27: (see photos in Sept. 30th photo album)
Best day ever! First Sierra and I went to Art Under the Bridge Festival...a giant art festival in DUMBO. It was so weird. Sierra, her roommate and I walked around DUMBO trying to find places where they were showing art. We kept walking into these random warehouses with 8 floors and some of them had art shows and some were empty and some had parties with bands in them...totally random.

Anyways, after that, Sierra and I went to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for BAM Takeover. The event was curated by Sufjan Stevens (aka dreamy singer/songwriter extraordinaire...see below).

Sierra is mega-obsessed with Sufjan and I'm quasi-obsessed. Anyways, it was an exciting night for the two of us because, lo and behold, SUFJAN WAS THERE!!! We weren't sure if he'd actually make an appearance, but he did. He introduced St. Vincent (see below).

And then at the end of her performance, he came back out and they did a cover of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" (see crappy video below)

After that magical moment, another wondrous event happened. Sierra and I had been talking about how it was weird that we were at a show and didn't know, or even recognize, anyone who was there. It's certainly different than being in Denver. So, then we started walking and I heard someone shout out my name. No way! Could someone really be calling my name!? And guess who it was? It was my first boss at 1190, Shervin. He graduated the year I started working there, so he was only my boss for one year, but what a coincidence! It was awesome, and we hung out with Shervin and his buddy from high school all night long!

During the thing at BAM, we also saw the Budos Band...

...and Sierra and I got up front and danced our butts off!

Then, Shervin took us to this awesome bar called the Crocodile? Or maybe it was the Alligator? Either way, you buy a drink, and they give you your own personal pizza! How great! We also ran into another 1190 DJ outside of the bar...which was really weird. Running into two 1190 people in one night is strange. She's in a band called Chairlift. They're kind of a big deal right now. They're in the new iPod commercial. Psht. Whatever.

Sierra and I finally got home around 4:30...fun (but long) night.

Friday, Sept. 26:
Boring day. I went to Martha's Bakery again (I need to stop now), and bought banana-blueberry pound cake to take to Mikelle's for the 1st presidential debate. Also bought a bottle of wine from a cute little wine shop near the bakery. McCain is Satan. Obama HAS to win. Slept at Mikelles, AGAIN.

Photo beak!

Catchup

Sounds like ketchup...Joke time!

OK, enough with the comedy. It's time to play some major catchup! It's been a while since I've posted a detailed blog, and that's mainly due in part to my frustrations with Wordpress (the blog site I was using). So, that is why I've switched to blogger. For all of you who commented on my old blog, I'm sorry, but I could not transfer the comments. But please feel free to comment on the new site!

So, I'm starting my first day at a paid internship at PC Magazine tomorrow...or rather, today at this point. I really should be going to be soon, but my sleep schedule is so off from not working for the past month, which, by the way, has been awesome. Except for the part of not having an income, I've really enjoyed not having to work. But all good things must come to an end, so I'm getting back in the swing of things. Now, that I have a job, I can (soon) start looking for a place, but it will take some time.

Robin gave me this cool little journal that allows you to keep track of everything you do for a year for five years. So, Ive been writing down everyday what I've been up to. Since I'm so behind, I'll just write what I wrote in my journal for the most part and elaborate on the things I feel need elaborating on...
Thursday, Sept. 25:
Went to Grimaldi's pizza in Brooklyn with Mikelle, Sierra and Angela (another Colorado person). Walked across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. Then, we went to China Town because Mikelle and Sierra wanted to buy cheap, big purses. We haggled with the sales people. It was fun. Then, Sierra and I bought weird, cheap pastries. We weren't really sure what they were, but we bought them because they were so cheap ($.65). Then we ate a Chinese restaurant. Good food! Then, Sierra and I went to this cute bar in Williamsburg called Pete's Candy Shop to see Sierra's roommate's band. They're called Motel Motel.

Wednesday, Sept. 24:
Got the internship at PC Magazine. JUST realized there's blocks of shopping literally a street away from me on Austin St. (took long enough to figure that out!). Spent day shopping (not a good thing). Went to cute bakery called Martha's Country Bakery, and bought cupcakes for Sierra and I. We went to the Brooklyn Biergarten and heard Slavic music. The band was called Panonian Wave. We had a lot of fun!

Tuesday, Sept. 23:
Being unemployed has caused me to become a bum! I sleep ALL the time! Today I slept until noon and then took a nap from 3 to 4:30! WTF?! Nothing exciting today. Ate eggplant pizza....it tastes so good!

Monday, Sept. 22:
Went grocery shopping. It's so different than shopping in CO. I used to buy so many things, but now I have to buy less more frequently. BUT, you can buy cheap and yummy food from the deli (a lot of Jewish food). Did luandry...it sucks. I want my own washer and dryer again!

Sunday, Sept. 21:
Slept at Mikelle's again last night (4 out of 10 days). Went to DSW in Union Squre. Boring day. I'm addicted to the new 90210. I miss watching it with Shayna.

Saturday, Sept. 20
Spent day with Lalita (mom and aunt's friend from way back). Went to her apt. on W. 83rd and Broadway. Looked at old architecture, Riverside Park, St. John the Divine Cathedral...
Grant's Tomb, sorry Grant...it's not yours...
We also saw Barnard College and the Columbia campus. Mikelle and I ate at Artie's, a Jewish deli right near Lalita's house. It was OK, but I hear there are better ones. They did have good matzah ball soup though! I ate a turkey Reuben, but I really wanted a pastrami one...I've been contemplating becoming an all-meat eater. There are so many wonderful foods that I've been missing out on because of my turkey, fish and chicken thing, but I haven't gone through with it yet. We'll see.

Then, we went to a cute little place right by Lalita's called Cafe Lalo. It is definitely cute. They filmed a lot of You've Got Mail there. Anyways, the best part of being there was this guy who was eating dinner with three of his friends. Mikelle and I walked in and she was like, "Oh my god, look at that guy." The guy she was refering to looked like he was having a religious experience with his salad. He was closing his eyes and chewing really slowly and kind of waving his head around very gracefully. We couldn't help but stare at him the whole time we were waiting for our coffee. But, he soon started sinking lower and lower into his salad. I'm pretty sure he was on some sort of drugs, but he was definitely falling asleep. His friends didn't even seem to care. They just ate and chatted like this was an everyday occurance.

Then, we went to Williamsburg and met up with Dave and Rachel and went to some bars. Fun stuff.

Friday, Sept. 19
Went to a film with Ballard called Chop Shop. View the trailer here!Got a museum card from nice intern. (That means free museums for me!) Went to awesome apartment in DUMBO (one of Dave's J-school friends). Met tons of journalists. Met Dave's new GF, Rachel. She's Jewish and awesome. Slept at Dave and Ballard's in Park Slope.

Thursday, Sept. 18:
Went to Mogwai with new friend, Tom. Very nice and cute (6'6"), but has GF. Oh well, concert buddy? Show was at Terminal 5 and Fuck Buttons opened. Very loud. My ears are still ringing.

OK, I'm way too tired. I'll fill you in on the rest tomorrow!

<img "What could this Movie1 be?" I asked myself. Well, lo and behold, it is a video of Grant making guacamole and Jess being Jess. Nothing too exciting, just kinda funny. Bad quality, and the sound's not great unless you have good speakers or wear earphones. type='text'>Day 4 to 8

Alright….back with more blogilicious info as promised! But first, let’s have picture time…yes? For all you Facebook peeps (sorry, Mom, not you) you can see these on the FB.

Day 4:

So, the next day, Sierra and I decided to go to Ikea. Now, if you're not familiar with Ikea, it's a magical place with unicorns and rainbows and lollipop trees. OK, it doesn't have any of that, but it is still mighty magical. It's a HUGE warehouse with lots of cheap(ish) furniture and everything you could ever want for a house. Sierra needed some things, so we decided to go. The one we went to was in Brooklyn. Now, we could have taken the train like boring, regular people, but instead, we decided to take the FREE Ikea water taxi. I mean, come on, two boats in one weekend! Whoa! So, we did, and here are some photos of that.

Day 5:

Today I had an interview at American Artist Magazine. It would be great to work there, but we will see. I got an offer from PC Magazine, but it is a paid internship, so no benefits, so we will see about that as well. I went to H & M for the first time of my life! I was a little disappointed, but that may be because I was holding it up to be some great, magical place, like Ikea. It was OK, but not what I had imagined. I mean, it is still a three-story store, so that was impressive. I also went to one of those little restaurants where there's a huge salad bar with a million different kinds of food (I think Miranda goes to them in Sex and the City), anyways, I ate alone (sad) and watched all the people below me on 5th Ave at the expensive stores. Exciting!

Day 6:

I had an interview today at here! Network. It's a TV network dedicated entirely to gay programing. It seems like a cool place to work. It's SMACK dab in Time Square, which is a little overwhelming. We'll see about that one as well. Later, I went to my cousin's house and we watched Planet Earth and then played Guitar Hero. I was a little rusty since I've been away from the casa of Trevor and Shayna, but I soon got back into the swing of things and kicked my cousin's butt! Yeah!

Day 7: End of week 1!

Well, I've made it a whole week so far! Today I went and had lunch with Robin and met a woman she works with who is close to my age and very stylish. She has my dream haircut, if I had straight hair. I'm going to a party for her bf's bday on Saturday. Anyways, we went to this place called Pete's Tavern, close to Union Square. It opened in 1851 as a local "grocery and grog," an early euphemism for liquor store. They opened a tavern in 1864 which has since remained open, which makes it an offical historical landmark and the oldest continuously operating bar and restaurant in NYC. It even turned into one of the most famous speakeasies during the time of prohibition and was disguised as a flower shop!

Later, I went to see Sigur Ros in concert! It was amazing. I've seen them once before, but my memory of it was a little hazy, so I'm glad I got to see them again. The show was sold-out and I got the ticket from someone on CouchSurfing who was selling it! I went alone (boooo), but it was OK. It was in this great big building called the United Palace Theatre.

Now, if you're not familiar with Sigur Ros, you should be. Here's a link to one of my favorite songs, Staraflur. It was in the Life Aquatic. They are Icelandic and make, beautiful, beautiful music.

After the concert I met up with a CouchSurfer and his friend and his friend told me he had an extra ticket to see Mogwai, a post-rock band who I've wanted to see for about four years, so I'm going to see them tonight! I'll let you know how it is! Miss you all!

Day 2 to 3...I am a procrastinator

OK. Well, I think we all expected this. I said I was going to try to make a post day, but alas, that has not happened. So, I'm going to catch up and try to be better at this. This is like all the times I kept a diary and would start it with:

September 16, 1996

Dear Diary,

My name is Jenny, I am 10 years old...blah blah blah.

That would be page one. Page two would say:

June 18, 2000

Dear Diary,

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how long it's been. Let me catch you up...

So, I'm going to try to make the frequency of my blog posts remain pretty constant. So, oh my gosh, I can't believe how long it's been. Let me catch you up...

I left you from Thursday where I dropped an egg. What I didn't tell you is that at the store, the song that was playing was Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby." It is Shayna and my song, and I felt like crying when I heard it! Here's a link to the great You Tube video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wbxKgp0Cvw

Day 2:

OK, so then on Friday I went to my first job interview at PC Magazine. It was crazy! Just like you would imagine a fancy-shmancy magazine in New York. It went really well, and they called me a few days later to see if I want a position there...I haven't decided yet. The result will come later.

Later, I went to Mikelle's for the Mikelle and Jenny Sleepover Weekend Extraveganza. That's what I'm calling it because Robin had houseguests, and I had to sleep somewhere. Lucky for me, Mikelle opened her loving arms, and we snuggled a little too! Her roommates are awesome, and we all went out Friday night to a cute little restaurant (which we thought was Turkish) and drank Sangria. I thought I had photos of it, but I guess I don't. Mikelle has them all! Anyways, then we went to another bar that was full of chads, and that was lame.

Day 3:

Mikelle and I woke up and she did homework for a while and I read and looked out the window into other people's windows (some may call me a voyer...but whatever). Mikelle lives on the 4th floor. Then, we went on my cousin's boat! It was amazing! It's part of the New York Sports and Raquet Club and there were fancy-schmancey people on the boat! We got free food and drinks, and it was awesome. We got to ride around and look at all the sights. Best night ever! I am living in Forrest Hills with a family friend. She lives in a great apartment, but it is a little far from the city. The train runs right near her apartment, so it works out pretty well.

I hadn't even been away from Colorado for a whole day, and I was already home sick, so I decided that hanging out with Mikelle and Sierra would be the best way to remedy that. We met and walked around Central Park and the surrounding areas, and then went back to Mikelle's apartment to watch the McCain/Obama talk that was going on at Columbia University! That's where Mikelle goes to school, which means we were this close to our No. 1 man, Senator Obama...sigh. What a dreamboat. Needless to say, McCain was soooooo boring, and his cheek was looking abnormally large tonight.

Anyways, then I left Mikelle's and for the first time, I got really lost in New York! Oh my god. I ended up somehow in a place like Time Square, but it wasn't Time Square. I finally made it home, after about an hour and a half and decided to stop at the supermarket. While there, I dropped an egg on the floor. How embarrassing. I told the guy working and he said it was OK and when I handed him the box of 11 eggs, he looked at me like I was crazy. So I put it back and left. It was weird. Oh, and a big thing of ice cream cost $7 there! Good thing...because I need to watch my figure.

Tomorrow's another day full of (hopefully) more fun adventures. Oh, and I have a job interview! I know, so soon! I'm a little scared! Stay tuned for more crazy egg-antics!
