Day 1: I dropped an egg

OK, so today was my first day in NYC! I am living in Forrest Hills with a family friend. She lives in a great apartment, but it is a little far from the city. The train runs right near her apartment, so it works out pretty well.

I hadn't even been away from Colorado for a whole day, and I was already home sick, so I decided that hanging out with Mikelle and Sierra would be the best way to remedy that. We met and walked around Central Park and the surrounding areas, and then went back to Mikelle's apartment to watch the McCain/Obama talk that was going on at Columbia University! That's where Mikelle goes to school, which means we were this close to our No. 1 man, Senator Obama...sigh. What a dreamboat. Needless to say, McCain was soooooo boring, and his cheek was looking abnormally large tonight.

Anyways, then I left Mikelle's and for the first time, I got really lost in New York! Oh my god. I ended up somehow in a place like Time Square, but it wasn't Time Square. I finally made it home, after about an hour and a half and decided to stop at the supermarket. While there, I dropped an egg on the floor. How embarrassing. I told the guy working and he said it was OK and when I handed him the box of 11 eggs, he looked at me like I was crazy. So I put it back and left. It was weird. Oh, and a big thing of ice cream cost $7 there! Good thing...because I need to watch my figure.

Tomorrow's another day full of (hopefully) more fun adventures. Oh, and I have a job interview! I know, so soon! I'm a little scared! Stay tuned for more crazy egg-antics!
